Coordinating Council
This 11 member council, which includes the Governor, comprises chief executives of the lead State agencies in the workforce development system. The Coordinating Council will serve as the steering committee of the WIB. Coordinating Council members serve ex officio.

On February 2, 2006, by Executive Order, the Governor reconstituted the State Workforce Investment Board and charged it with developing a comprehensive Workforce Development Strategic Plan that links workforce development to education and aligns this effort with economic development in the State, its regions, and communities. The Governor's Office of Workforce Development (GOWFD) was also established to provide staff support to the board in this effort.
