Workforce Development Survey
Governor's Office of Workforce Development
Workforce Development Survey
September 2006
On February 2, 2006, by Executive Order, the Governor reconstituted the State Workforce Investment Board and charged it with developing a comprehensive Workforce Development Strategic Plan that links workforce development to education and aligns this effort with economic development in the State, its regions, and communities. The Governor's Office of Workforce Development (GOWFD) was also established to provide staff support to the board in this effort.
A key component in developing a comprehensive strategic plan for workforce development is to first understand where all current workforce development efforts are contained in State agencies, what the scope of these efforts are, and how they are aligned and partnered with like efforts within the State, its regions, and communities. To this end, the GOWFD requested appropriate state agencies to participate in an electronic survey to provide us with information about the agency's workforce development efforts. The responses will be used to create a statewide strategic map of Georgia's current workforce development efforts. The participation of these agencies in completing this survey is integral to developing the broader strategic plan to guide the development of a skilled and educated Georgia workforce.
The results of this survey will be posted on this website after October 1, 2006. The following state agencies were asked to participate:
- Georgia Department of Labor
- Georgia Department of Economic Development
- Georgia Department of Community Affairs
- Georgia Department of Technical and Adult Education
- Georgia Department of Education
- University System of Georgia
- Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning
- Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice
- Georgia Department of Correction
- Georgia Student Finance Commission
- Georgia Department of Human Resources
- Professional Standards Commission
